We Need To Talk: Changing Hearts and Minds About Planned Parenthood

If you’ve ever talked to someone you don’t see eye-to-eye with about complicated social or political issues, you probably know how challenging those conversations can be. Sometimes in traditional advocacy we get caught in debates or arguments and lose sight of the people who are impacted by the work we do. For this reason, PPWI is eager to share the Conversational Approach with you. Rooted in psychology, this training gives you the tools to have meaningful conversations and become more effective advocates. This approach to advocacy is used throughout PPWI from staff to board members and volunteers with the goal of changing hearts and minds. Using the approach, we’ll reconsider our assumptions about what a supporter looks like, acknowledge that people may have conflicted feelings, and find common ground based on shared values. This is an interactive training so please come prepared to join us on video and have access to your microphone for discussion.
